Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain has created history by winning a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics. However, she lost in the women’s welterweight (64-69kg) semi-final match. Lovlina was defeated 0-5 by Busenaz Surmenelli of Turkey.
The whole country is congratulating her on this success of Lovlina. President Ram Nath Kovind also congratulated boxer Lovlina Borgohain for winning the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. “Your bronze medal will inspire youth, especially young women, to fight challenges and turn their dreams into reality,” the President wrote in his tweet.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Well fought Lovlina Borgohain, her success in the boxing ring inspires many Indians. Her perseverance and determination is admirable. Congratulations to her on winning the bronze medal. Best wishes for her future endeavours. ”
Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said that another daughter of India performed brilliantly, so far all the three medals are in the name of the daughters of India. It was Lovlina Borgohenk’s first Olympics but despite that she performed brilliantly.
